I was messing around with Horizon View, everything was going well until I got to a point where I wanted to install the Horizon View agent.
I kept geting this error: “The system must be rebooted before installation can continue”
Google kept bringing me back to this KB:
Unfortunately, none of the steps in the KB resolved my issue.
I spent a few hours on this when I decided to try something else.
I had a “regular” account that I used to logon and an “admin” account that I used to run the installer as an administrator. My thought was to logon as the “admin” account so that I didn’t have to do the ‘run as’. Maybe it was getting confused being run as a different user than the logged on one?
Once I logged in as admin and ran the installer, BAM no problems. The littles things always end up being the issue.

Hi.
Did you report this as a bug to VMware? I guess the same issue is blocking our scripted / automated agent install..

I did not submit a SR, this was a one-time install using some eval vExpert licenses, so I didn’t think much about it after I figured out how to get it installed.
